I'm with SIMPSONS !

Ce sera forcément le film de l'année. Il faut dire qu'après un peu plus de 400 épisodes à la TV et 20 ans au compteur, nous avons été assez patient pour enfin aller voir Les Simpsons au cinéma. Incontestablement l'événement cinématographique 2007 ! (Sortie le 25 juillet je crois...).
Le site officiel propose de composer son personnage sauce Matt Groening, je me suis empressé de faire mon avatar personnalisé auquel il ne manque plus que les lunettes pour être ma parfaite reconstitution... (ouais je sais, c'est pas forcément flatteur ^^).

It will be the Movie of the Year, No doubt about it. After more than 400 TV shows and 20 years of activity, we have waited enough time to finally see The Simpsons The Movie. (On screen the 25th of july in France).

Puisqu'on est dans le cinéma, j'aimerais livrer ici mes impressions sur les films qui m'ont particulièrement marqués en ce début d'année. Dans le désordre, et sans préférences particulières :

Le dernier roi d'Ecosse - The last king of scotland


Enorme choc qui doit surtout à l'interprétation magistrale de Forest Whitaker (Oscar du meilleur acteur) mais aussi à la réalisation documentaire/réalité de Kevin Macdonald qui gagne à être connu. Un film poignant basé sur la montée au pouvoir du dictateur fou Idi Amin Dada, roi autoproclamé, sanguinaire, malin, animal.... Non franchement, les mots me manquent pour tenter de vous faire ressentir ce qui m'a traversé dans ce long métrage au suspens haletant. A voir sans hésiter !!

Huge choc, particulary for the acting of Forest Whitaker (Oscar, best first role), but also for the direction of Kevin Macdonald, who deserves to be well-known. A movie on the rise to the power of the mad dictator Idi Amin Dada, self-proclamed king, bloody, brave and animal.... No, frankly, words are not enough to gave you what I felt watching this movie. Watch it without any hesitations !!

Les fils de l'Homme - Children of men


Je le savais, Harry Potter 3 était le meilleur opus de la série, Alfonso Cuaron est un génie. Seul un génie de la caméra effectivement aurait pu, dans la droite ligne d'Hitchcock, signer les deux plus grands plans-séquences de ces vingt dernières années, et orchestrer cette sombre histoire de trauma apocalyptique avec une telle virtuosité. Les enfants de l'Homme est de la trempe des films qui restent gravés dans les mémoires.

I knew it, Harry Potter 3 was the best of the saga, Alfonso Cuaron is a genius. Only a genius could have make such marvelous scenes, and showed us a dake movie with such an apocalyptic climax. Children of Men is one from the few movie that we will remember in 20 years.

Hot Fuzz


Après Shaun of the Dead et son irrésistible humour so british. J'étais assez préssé de voir le nouveau long d'Edgar Wright et ses copains. Cette fois-ci il s'attaque aux monuments du plaisir coupable que sont Bad Boys 2 et Point Break avec toujours cette pointe de dérision honnète et révérencieuse. Et comme pour Shaun.... c'est une réussite sans concession.

After Shaun of the Dead and his so-british humor. I was happy to see the new movie by Edgar Wright and his friends. This time, they will adapt to the two guilty pleasure monument that are Bad Boys 2 and Point Break with this sens of honest humor. And as for Shaun.... Wright was right. :)

Zodiac


Bon suspens + Bons acteurs + Bon réalisateur + Bonne histoire = définitivement bon film !

Good suspens + Good actors + Good director + Good story = definetly good movie !

Le vent se lève - The Wind that Shakes the Barley


Ce qui promettait être une barbante reconstitution (palme d'Or hein...) de la lutte perdue d'avance d'une poignée d'irlandais pour leur indépendance se révèle être un putain de coup de poignard dans le bide !! Déjà, je ne serais pas avard en éloge pour la studieuse réalisation de Ken Loach et le charisme de Cillian Murphy, mais surtout je voue direct un culte à celui qui a signé le script.

I thought it was a new boring movie coming from Cannes film festival, a few Irish people lost by advance and fighting for their freedom... but it was a fucking knife shot direct in my nest !! First of all, congratulations for Ken Loach (the director) and Cillian Murphy, then, many thanks to the guy who wrote the script. It was great !!
